Chapter 76 - The Echoes of the Founder

The airlock swung outward, revealing a chamber that defied logic.
Beneath the primitive German forest lay an ultra-modern subterranean command suite, illuminated by soft recessed floor lights. In the center of the room stood an expansive circular holographic projector, surrounded by server racks that hummed in perfect synchronicity.
As they stepped across the threshold, the entire room powered up.
A massive three-dimensional map of the globe projected into the air, crisscrossed by glowing crimson and gold threads. Thousands of corporate entities, banks, sovereign wealth funds, and private military groups appeared, all branching outward from two central nodes: *Vance Global* and *Sinclair Dynamics*.
"Dear God..." Richard breathed, having crawled to the edge of the doorway. "It’s the Ledger. The true Sovereign Ledger."
"It's not just a ledger," Alexander said, his eyes scanning the cascading data streams. "It's an operational architecture. Elena... your father didn't work for Vance Global. Vance Global was created as a public lightning rod to protect Sinclair's research."
The central console flickered, and a fresh visual feed materialized—not a recording, but a real-time decryption log that was actively unspooling billions of lines of financial code.
"When I transferred the hundred and fifty million to you," Alexander said, piecing together the nightmare, "I used the Vance Private Cayman Reserve. But that reserve wasn't cash. It was an encrypted authorization key. The moment you accepted the divorce settlement and registered the business license for your flower shop in Willow Creek, the system recognized your geographic location and began transferring control of the entire sovereign grid to your name."
"My father didn't want the world to fall to the Core," Elena said, her eyes fixed on a glowing schematic of an orbital network named *Aegis-7*. "He knew the board members—the men hiding behind the synthetic voices—were preparing to crash the global currency reserves and replace them with an unhackable digital monopoly. Leo’s genetic code... it’s not a weapon. It's the biological encryption key needed to shut Aegis down."
"And that's why they need him alive," Alexander concluded, his jaw clenching. "Without Leo's cellular sequence, their satellite network remains locked in standby mode. If they capture him, they control the world's infrastructure. If they kill him, the network stays bricked forever, but they lose their prize."
Suddenly, a loud red warning flash pulsed through the subterranean chamber.
A low siren began to wail, vibrating the concrete walls. On the main monitor, an alert flashed in stark white letters:
**PROXIMITY BREACH: SECTOR 4-BLACK FOREST.**
**HOSTILE ASSETS DETECTED: 12 MILES AND CLOSING.**
**SIGNATURE: OMEGA RECONNAISSANCE SQUADRON.**
Richard let out a broken groan from the floor. "They found us. How did they find us?! There are no active transmitters here!"

Elena glanced down at Leo, then froze. She looked at Richard, then slowly turned her gaze toward Alexander's coat.
"Alexander," she whispered, her voice shaking. "Your coat."
