Chapter 33 - The True Heir's Seal

"Security!" Marcus Sterling roared, slamming both palms down onto the table, his composure fracturing into frantic rage. "Hayes, call building security immediately! What is the meaning of this? You are trespassing, Alexander! You abandoned your post! You are legally mentally unfit under the emergency declarations filed this morning!"
Two private security guards reached for their holstered sidearms, but before their fingers could clear the leather, the tactical team flanking Alexander moved with terrifying military precision. In a fraction of a second, both corporate guards were pinned violently against the mahogany paneling, their weapons disarmed and kicked across the polished floor.
Arthur Vance stepped past them, his silver-tipped cane striking the floor with a rhythmic, thunderous cadence.
"Sit down, Marcus," Arthur said with ice-cold authority. "Before you embarrass yourself any further in front of the Securities and Exchange Commission observers who are currently monitoring this feed from the federal courthouse."
Marcus froze. He glanced at the ceiling corner where the boardroom’s teleconference lens had switched from an internal loop to a blinking amber uplink stamped with the seal of the United States Southern District Court of New York.
"What is this nonsense, Arthur?" Julianna hissed, stepping in front of her father, her eyes blazing with panic masked as indignation. "Alexander is my husband! He signed the trust over to us three years ago! He paid off that little peasant flower girl with our family money and abandoned the firm! You have no standing here, old man!"
"Your husband?" Alexander said quietly, walking toward her. Each step he took seemed to suck the oxygen out of the immense room.
Julianna instinctively took a step back, shocked by the terrifying intensity in Alexander’s eyes. This was not the broken, guilt-ridden shell of a man who had passively endured her manipulations for three years. This was the predator who had built Vance Global’s shipping dominance from the ground up—the true son of the North Atlantic.
"You never were my wife, Julianna," Alexander stated, stopping two feet from her. "The marriage certificate you signed three years ago was filed under an unverified corporate pseudonym that lacked power of attorney. Arthur drafted it specifically to keep you and your parasitic father occupied while we tracked your offshore treason."
Arthur stepped up to the head of the table, placing a heavy bronze cylinder directly on top of the forfeiture documents. With a crisp twist of the mechanical dial, the cylinder hissed, opening to reveal a crimson wax-sealed scroll alongside an illuminated optical reader.
"Under the Vance Patriarchal Accord of 1964," Arthur announced to the dead-silent room, "the primary assets of the Vance Global conglomerate are not subject to standard corporate default, bankruptcy, or matrimonial redistribution. They are governed exclusively by bloodline trusteeship."
Arthur tapped the optical reader. The massive projector screens lining the boardroom hummed to life, displaying a digital DNA mapping matrix followed by a birth certificate officially registered in the federal archive forty-eight hours after Alexander’s supposed divorce.
"Alexander Vance did not abdicate," Arthur declared. "He legally transferred forty-nine percent of the voting trust into a blind conservatorship for his legitimate firstborn son—Leo Vance. And the remaining fifty-one percent was assigned to the boy's legal guardian."
Julianna's breath hitched. "No... that's impossible. She had an abortion. We paid her clinic in Zurich—we had the medical records!"

"You had the medical records Arthur fed your amateur spies," Alexander snarled, leaning down until his eyes were inches from Julianna's terrified gaze. "My wife didn't destroy our child. She protected him from you."
