Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Showdown

The eleventh-floor executive boardroom of Ellison Global Technologies was packed to absolute capacity. Twenty-four members of the board of directors sat in heavy leather chairs around the massive mahogany table, their expressions a mixture of anxiety, corporate ambition, and tense anticipation.

Harrison Vance sat at the head of the table, flanked by his corporate legal counsel, radiating an aura of absolute dominance. He checked his luxury Swiss watch, a smug smirk playing on his lips.

"Gentlemen," Harrison announced, clearing his throat to command the room's attention. "We are here to address an unprecedented crisis. The security failure at Mr. Ellison’s penthouse—highlighted by a chaotic and entirely inappropriate domestic intrusion—has exposed deep flaws in our corporate governance. I propose an immediate vote of no confidence against Marcus Ellison, effective immediately."

Murmurs of agreement rippled through several compromised board members who had secretly aligned themselves with Harrison’s hostile takeover bid.

Before the vote could be called, the heavy double doors of the boardroom swung open with a sharp, echoing click.

Marcus Ellison walked in. He wasn't alone. Walking right beside him, holding his hand with complete, innocent fearlessness, was three-year-old Lily, dressed in a brand-new pink dress, her battered stuffed rabbit tucked securely under her arm. Behind them walked Rosa, looking nervous but deeply resolute, accompanied by two federal cyber-crime investigators in dark suits.

Gasps echoed through the room. Board members stood up in protest.

"Marcus! What is the meaning of this?" shouted an elderly board member. "Why is a child and a member of the cleaning staff in a confidential board meeting?"

"Because," Marcus announced, his voice ringing with absolute authority as he walked to the head of the table, "every single financial decision, security audit, and hostile maneuver executed in this room over the past twelve months has been tainted by criminal conspiracy. And it takes a child to remind adults of the simple, undeniable truth."

Harrison’s face turned an ugly shade of pale. He slammed his hand onto the table. "This is absurd! Security, remove these intruders immediately!"

"Sit down, Harrison," one of the federal investigators commanded, flashing a gold federal badge and stepping forward. "Harrison Vance, you are under arrest for federal industrial espionage, conspiracy, and securities fraud."

Pandemonium erupted in the boardroom. Shouts of outrage and panic bounced off the glass walls. Harrison’s attorneys stood up furiously, demanding warrants, but the federal agents moved with swift, practiced precision, slapping heavy steel handcuffs onto the stunned board chairman.

As Harrison was hauled toward the doors, his face twisted in pure rage, he glared at Marcus. "You think you've won, Ellison? The board still controls the majority share! Without my capital backing, your company will crumble within the month!"

"Not quite," a calm, sweet voice echoed from beside Marcus.

Little Lily let go of Marcus's hand, stepped forward, and held up a shiny gold sticker that Marcus had given her, pointing proudly at the boardroom projector screen.

Arthur Vance quickly took control of the main console, overriding the corporate display. A bright, dazzling financial ledger lit up the room, revealing a massive, anonymous venture capital injection that had just hit Ellison Global’s accounts—fully funding Project Prometheus three times over, backed by an independent sovereign tech fund that despised corporate corruption.

The boardroom fell into stunned, respectful silence. The coup had failed. The traitors were exposed. And the entire empire was safe.
