Chapter 20 - The Unseen Gathering

Back in Manhattan, the evening sun cast a brilliant amber glow across the New York skyline. Inside the penthouse residence, the atmosphere was warm and filled with the gentle hum of peace.
Dr. Elena Vance had concluded her first day of corporate auditing, and rather than retreating to a hotel, she had accepted Marcus's invitation to stay for a casual dinner on the terrace, joined by Rosa and little Lily, who was busy showing off her artistic skills with a fresh set of watercolor paints.
"Your audit framework is rigorous, Elena," Marcus remarked, handing her a glass of sparkling water as they stood near the glass balcony railing. "You've uncovered three potential bureaucratic bottlenecks in our community outreach approval process that our internal team completely missed."
Elena smiled, looking out over the glittering city lights. "Systems are easy to fix, Marcus. It’s the human element that requires constant care. What you've built here with Rosa, Lily, and this foundation... it’s rare. Don't ever let corporate paranoia close those doors again."
Rosa walked over, holding a small plate of freshly baked pastries, her expression serene and content. "Mr. Ellison, Dr. Vance, dinner is served inside whenever you're ready. And Lily insists that everyone wear their imaginary superhero capes."

Marcus chuckled, a warm, genuine sound that echoed the profound transformation he had undergone over the past two months. "Tell Captain Lily that her brigade is ready."
As they turned toward the dining room, none of them knew about the dark financial plots slowly spinning in Zurich, nor the hidden storm brewing around the foundation's upcoming real estate expansion. But for the first time in his life, Marcus Ellison did not feel anxious about the future. He knew that whatever shadows tried to creep back into his world, the truth would always find a way to light the path forward.
