Chapter 23 - The Trap Springs Shut in Zurich

Three thousand miles away across the Atlantic Ocean, inside a sleek, glass-walled penthouse office overlooking the serene waters of Lake Zurich, Viktor Vance swirled a glass of vintage scotch, smiling with arrogant, unearned satisfaction. He firmly believed his shadow syndicate had executed a flawless, untraceable maneuver against Ellison Global.

"Mr. Vance," his lead financial strategist Julian interrupted, bursting into the private office with a pale, trembling face and wide, panicked eyes. "Sir... we have a catastrophic emergency unfolding in New York."

Viktor didn't turn around, sipping his scotch lazily and scoffing at the panic. "Calm down, Julian. Did Ellison accept the real estate portfolio or not?"

"He accepted it, sir... but not the way we planned!" Julian stammered frantically, slamming a glowing tablet onto the mahogany desk. "The moment the transfer was logged, Ellison's legal team didn't just review the paperwork—they filed an emergency federal whistleblower injunction in a New York district court, exposing our entire Delaware shell network to public scrutiny!"

Viktor’s face drained of color in a single heartbeat. He spun around, grabbing the tablet with shaking hands. The screen displayed an active federal seizure notice issued jointly by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice, officially freezing all of The Apex Syndicate’s secondary liquidity accounts across Europe and the Cayman Islands.

Worse still, a live public press release from Ellison Global Technologies was currently broadcasting across international financial news networks, detailing Viktor Vance’s attempted sabotage of a children's charitable foundation in real-time.

"He didn't just dodge the trap," Julian whispered in sheer horror. "He turned our own shell corporation into a legal weapon and seized our entire portfolio."

Before Viktor could even process the absolute devastation, the heavy double doors of his Zurich office burst open. Local Swiss federal police officers, accompanied by heavily armed Interpol agents, marched into the room with stern, unyielding expressions, slamming heavy steel handcuffs onto Viktor’s wrists.

The shadow empire had crumbled completely into dust.
