Chapter 6 - Unmasking The Parasites

“A fascinating story, Margaret,” I said, my voice echoing off the vaulted ceilings.

“You always were remarkably skilled at rewriting reality to suit your insatiable greed.”

I raised the black leather dossier high above my head so every person in the ballroom could clearly see the official seal.

“Does anyone in this room know why I was in Tokyo this past week?” I asked, addressing the crowd of high-society freeloaders.

Nobody dared to breathe.

“My family told you I was finalizing restaurant expansion deals,” I continued, pacing slowly across the front of the room.

“In reality, I was meeting with international fraud investigators and cyber-security forensics experts.”

“Because over the past eighteen months, exactly twenty-four million dollars was systematically drained from my corporate holding accounts.”

A collective gasp swept through the room like a sudden gust of wind.

Michael took two steps backward, his back hitting the marble pillars as his breathing turned shallow and rapid.

Ashley gripped her husband Greg’s arm so hard her knuckles turned stark white.

“Let’s look at where that money went, shall we?” I opened the folder and pulled out the first laminated sheet of financial transactions.

“On the fourteenth of March, three point two million dollars was wired to an offshore account in the Cayman Islands under the name 'Margaret Holdings LLC.'”

Margaret’s hands flew to her throat, her face draining of every speck of color.

“Daniel, stop this right now!” she hissed, dropping her sweet motherly tone entirely.

“You are humiliating your own flesh and blood in front of the entire city!”

“You haven't seen humiliation yet, Margaret,” I replied with ice in my veins.

“On June second, Ashley and her useless husband Greg forged my digital signature on an eight-hundred-thousand-dollar line of credit to purchase a luxury yacht currently docked in Newport Beach.”

Greg took a frantic step back, looking toward the exit doors, but two burly men in dark suits had already quietly positioned themselves in front of the main foyer.

“And my dear brother Michael,” I locked my gaze onto his shaking, sweating frame.

“You lost four million dollars in illegal underground poker dens in Macau and billed it as 'Sterling Hospitality Marketing Expenses.'”

“You all thought I was too busy, too exhausted, and too blind to notice the missing millions.”

“You thought that by keeping Emily isolated, terrified, and cut off from the outside world, she wouldn't be able to alert me to your disgusting betrayal!”

Emily stood beside me, her eyes widening as she heard the astronomical numbers being laid bare.

“They told me... they told me the company was going bankrupt, Daniel,” Emily cried out, her voice cutting through the room with raw pain.

“Margaret showed me bank statements saying we had lost everything!”

“She said that if I didn't fire all the household staff and do all the domestic labor myself, the bank would seize this house and send you to federal prison!”

The entire ballroom gasped in genuine horror.

Even these shallow, narcissistic party guests were visibly disgusted by the depths of the family’s cruelty.

Margaret had used Emily’s absolute devotion to me as a psychological weapon to turn her into an unpaid, terrified slave inside her own mansion.

“You convinced the woman who built me from nothing that she was ruining my life,” I whispered, looking directly into my mother's terrified eyes.

“You made her scrub grease until her hands bled while you wore her anniversary jewels and drank my vintage wine.”

“Daniel, please!” Michael suddenly fell forward onto his knees, sobbing openly on the floor.

“It was Mom's idea! She said you owed us! She said you had more money than you could ever spend in ten lifetimes!”

“Shut up, Michael! You coward!” Ashley screamed at her brother, turning completely feral.

“You took the money too! You bought three sports cars with his corporate cards!”

The family immediately descended into a vicious, shouting match, clawing and blaming each other like wild animals trapped in a cage.

I stood motionless, watching them tear each other apart with cold, detached disgust.

The illusion of their noble, high-class family was shattered into a million filthy pieces in front of their elite peers.
