Chapter 5 - The Convoy Rolls In

The front gates of Maple Ridge Middle School swung wide open as an unprecedented military convoy breached the property line.
At the head of the procession rode a phalanx of twelve heavy Harley-Davidson motorcycles, ridden by seasoned veterans wearing black leather vests and polished combat boots. Each bike flew a crisp, snapping American flag from a rear mounting bracket, fluttering fiercely in the slipstream. Behind the motorcycles rolled three matte-black Chevrolet Suburban SUVs, their tinted windows reflecting the school’s brick façade. On the front doors of each vehicle, the stark, unmistakable golden trident emblem of the United States Navy SEALs gleamed in the sunlight.
The convoy didn't stop at the visitor parking spaces; instead, the lead motorcycle smoothly guided the procession directly onto the wide concrete plaza right in front of the main school entrance.
Inside the building, the rumble had escalated into a deafening roar that vibrated through every windowpane. Students bolted from their desks, pressing their faces against the classroom windows. Whispers erupted across the hallways like wildfire.
"Is that the FBI?"
"No, look at those flags! Are those soldiers?"
"What is happening?!"
Principal Henderson threw open the heavy double doors of the front entrance, stepping out onto the steps with a look of profound bewilderment on his face. The school security guard stood frozen by the doorway, his hand instinctively reaching for a radio he didn't know how to use in a situation like this.
The engines cut out simultaneously, plunging the school grounds into an abrupt, heavy silence. The only sound left was the gentle flapping of the American flags in the morning breeze and the soft crunch of gravel under heavy combat boots.
The rear doors of the center SUV swung open with mechanical precision.
From the vehicles emerged twelve rows of Navy SEAL operators in full dress blues. Their dark navy uniforms were impeccably tailored, razor-sharp creases running down their trousers. Rows of campaign ribbons, valor awards, and warfare insignia gleamed brilliantly in the sunlight. They moved with absolute synchronization, forming a solemn, respectful corridor from the edge of the parking lot straight up to the steps of the main entrance.
Principal Henderson gripped the handrail of the steps, his knuckles turning white. "Can... can I help you gentlemen?" he stammered, his voice trembling slightly under the overwhelming aura of authority radiating from the assembled operators.
A heavy silence hung in the air for a moment. Then, the front passenger door of the lead SUV opened.

A man stepped out into the light, leaning heavily on a pair of silver forearm crutches. His right sleeve was neatly pinned to his shoulder.
It was LT. Luke Harris.
